My love for cocktails and mixology is relatively new found, but I cannot imagine not having it as a hobby. Mixology speaks to my scientific inquisitiveness, my curiosity regarding the synergy of flavors, and, most importantly, my enjoyment of alcohol! Many cocktail enthusiasts fall into one of two camps: (1) having a predilection for overly sweet, unbalanced drinks, like those found in most chain restaurants (e.g. TGI Fridays), or (2) being so snobby that they make cocktails unapproachable for most others. I do not fall into either camp and instead just enjoy well made (and well balanced!) drinks without pretentiousness. I want to share my interest and enjoyment with others. I recently hosted some friends and made them some cocktails. It was a great night of drinking and debauchery (see picture above), but also a night filled with the sharing of knowledge.
With all that in mind, and with the help of some great friends who not only happily drink my cocktails but also lend me their photography skills, I decided to begin this blog. Enjoy! And may you never have a poorly made drink again.
